One Question Worth Asking Today (And Wherever You’re Struggling)

“The unexamined life is not worth living.” — Socrates

I don’t know if an unexamined life isn’t worth living, but I’m highly skeptical of your ability to produce much progress without this often painful exercise.

To move your life in the direction you desire, you are forced to ‘get real’ with yourself. We all struggle in parts of our life, which usually are the parts we are most frustrated with. The best way to push these areas of concern forward is to review ourselves like a meticulous doctor examines his patients.

Perhaps Socrates was trying to say that your life is worth examining.

So here’s the question you should start with:

How have I been complicit in creating the conditions I say I don’t want? — Jerry Colonna

More often than not, our frustrations in an area of our life lead back to our behavior.

I know…I’m not winning you over today. But remember, we are willing to do the work it takes to ‘get real’ with our lives. If we are going to find our best lives, we must attack the problem.

Even if we don’t enjoy the answers that it produces.

There’s no sense in dancing around what’s holding you back. Just lean into the question. Go for it!

You’ll be glad you did.
