If You Want to be Grateful, You Have to Practice

Traditions are great. Practices are better.

Here in America, we partake in a tradition in which we take a day to consider all the things that we are grateful for in our lives. Most of us don’t have to look too far to find the natural list of things to be thankful for. We should be grateful for our families, good health, the blessings we have before us, and a future that we can believe in.

I think it’s important to take a day to recognize and even more so appreciate these incredible things that we have in life.

Traditions are great.

Practices are better.

“If you want to garden, you have to head down and touch the soil. Gardening is a practice. Not an idea.” — Thich Nhat Hanh

Over the last several years of my life, I’ve tried to practice more gratefulness in my life. Not because it sounds good. Not because it’s the right thing to do. Not because it’s popular or in style.

No, I’ve implemented this into my life because it simply provides more peace of mind and provides me with a life of abundance. Something that is not always easy to find in an ever-challenging world.
