I’m going to explain how to take care of yourself, mentally, even in the midst of a busy life.

Life is fast. Understanding how to keep your personal care battery charged, so you can stay mentally ready for the responsibilities in your life, the things life throws at you, and keep your mental sanity is very important.

Unfortunately, so many people prioritize other things in their life before their own mental health.

Your Mental Health Isn’t Something To Get to Later

Many people simply don’t take the time to make sure this is in a good place and ultimately get run down because they:

  • Prioritize money
  • Prioritize a job
  • Prioritize others happiness
  • Simply don’t recognize the value in their mental health

You can be driven, ambitious, wealthy, and a strong influence on those around you and still take care of your health.

Here’s how, step by step:

Step 1: Schedule ‘me’ time!

You have to take some time to do thing that recharge your battery.

This is personal preference, but here are some ideas:

  • Journal, meditate, or prayer
  • Read a book or listen to a positive podcast
  • Exercise or go for a walk
  • Schedule an hour or two with your favorite hobby each week

Not all of these things take hours upon hours. Still, a little bit can go a long way if you take the proper time.

Step 2: Have a health/fitness plan!

If your body feels weak, your mind will soon follow.

You don’t have to run marathons or join a CrossFit box to improve your physical strength. You also don’t have to eliminate pizzas and cheeseburgers forever.

But you do have to have a plan that gets your body moving, limits the less effective nutritional meals, and values sleep.

Step 3: Listen to your intuition!

You know when you start to feel run down, aren’t feeling yourself, or just need to rest your mind. Trust this intuition.

When you start to trust this, make the time for your mental health, and have a game plan for your physical health — you are taking the steps to keep your personal care battery charged.

What are your personal care practices?
